You'll join a collaborative finance team where systems and processes are developing, giving you genuine scope to influence how things are done and take ownership across two key business units.Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities of the Management Accountant include:Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and variance analysis.Produce year‑end financial statements for multiple entities and support the audit process to ensure deadlines are met.Analyse capex vs opex spend and contribute to the preparation of board-pack schedules.Support changes and improvements within the financial reporting systems (including Sage X3).Assist with group reporting and consolidation activities.Provide hands‑on support through year‑end and audit preparation.Work closely with operational and plant management teams to improve financial literacy and drive cost awareness.Support the wider finance function on projects, process improvements, and ad‑hoc tasks.Adhere to internal policies, contribute to a positive working culture, and deliver high‑quality outputs within required timeframes.The Successful ApplicantA successful Management Accountant should have:Effective communication and collaboration skills.Part-qualified (ideal) or QBE Management Accountant with strong technical grounding.Experience working in a multi‑entity or complex business environment.Strong attention to detail with the ability to break down and solve problems.Confident communicator able to challenge, support, and influence non‑finance stakeholders.Comfortable operating in a high‑paced, changing environment where processes are developing.Proactive, energetic, and able to manage competing deadlines.IT‑proficient, ideally with experience in Sage X3 and modern forecasting tools.What's on OfferCompetitive salary between £42,000 and £52,000 per annum.Comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being.Opportunity to work in the Energy & Natural Resources industry in London.Supportive and professional working environment.Potential for career development and growth within the Accounting & Finance department.If you are ready to take on this exciting Management Accountant role in Chester, we encourage you to apply today.
