The Purchase Ledger Clerk will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. This temporary role within the media and agency industry and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills. Using Sage Line 50.

Job Description

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding to the appropriate accounts.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, including BACs payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Respond promptly to supplier queries and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Support the accounting team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Purchase Ledger Clerk should have:

  • Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar role within accounting and finance.
  • A strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
