Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing end-to-end monthly payroll
  • Managing starters, leavers and employee changes
  • Administering overtime, shift payments and statutory payments
  • Managing salary sacrifice arrangements and pension administration
  • Completing payroll reconciliations and validation checks
  • Investigating and resolving employee and manager payroll queries
  • Producing payroll reports and management information
  • Supporting year-end processes including P60s and statutory reporting
  • Liaising with HMRC, pension providers and third-party suppliers
  • Assisting with payroll system improvements, testing and future projects
  • Deputising for the Senior Payroll Manager when required



The Successful Applicant

We're looking for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can provide both technical expertise and excellent stakeholder support.

You'll have:

  • Significant experience delivering end-to-end payroll independently
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI and statutory payments
  • MHR iTrent Payroll experience
  • Time & Attendance system experience
  • Experience administering pensions and auto-enrolment
  • Excellent payroll reconciliation and audit skills
  • Experience dealing with complex payroll queries
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and work with stakeholders across the business
  • CIPP qualification (or studying towards) desirable
  • Payroll systems implementation or testing experience desirable
  • Experience working with shift-based or operational workforces desirable
