This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation, with a strong possibility of the position becoming permanent.Job DescriptionThe RoleThe Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the organisation, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and internal policies. Working closely with HR and Finance colleagues, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll accuracy and providing excellent support to employees.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess monthly payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines.Maintain payroll records, ensuring employee data is accurate and up to date.Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and other relevant deductions.Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, pension auto-enrolment requirements and payroll legislation.Administer pension contributions and liaise with pension providers as required.Reconcile payroll reports and support month-end finance processes.Manage payroll queries from employees, managers and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.Process starters, leavers, contractual changes and salary amendments.Prepare payroll reports and provide management information as required.Support audits and provide payroll-related documentation when requested.Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.Assist the wider Finance team with related administrative and finance duties when required.The Successful ApplicantEssential Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience in an end-to-end payroll position.Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.Experience administering payroll for a medium-sized organisation.Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.Strong organisational and time management skills.Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.Desirable Skills & ExperiencePayroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent).Experience working within the charity, public sector or not-for-profit environment.Knowledge of pension administration and auto-enrolment processes.Experience using Sage Payroll or similar payroll systems.What's on OfferA temporary role offering flexibility and a chance to contribute to a Not For Profit organisation.Opportunity to work within a small-sized team in Swansea.Engagement in meaningful work that supports the organisation's mission.If you are a skilled Payroll Officer with a passion for accuracy and efficiency, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity in Swansea.ContactHarrison PugsleyQuote job refJN-072026-7055576Phone number+441179065132Job summaryJob functionAccountingSubsectorPayrollSectorNot For ProfitLocationSwanseaContract typeTemporaryConsultant nameHarrison PugsleyConsultant phone+441179065132Job referenceJN-072026-7055576
