This is an Interim Position for a Planning Solicitor to join a local authority organisation based in Oxfordshire.

  • Experience of drafting Section 106 agreements.

This Local Authority provide a range of shared legal services across the Oxfordshire area.

Job Description

The Planning Solicitor will hold the following responsibilities:

  • Draft Section 106 agreements without supervision
  • Deal with judicial reviews
  • Attend committee meetings
  • Have good knowledge of Community infrastructure levy (CIL)
  • Provide legal advice on planning law and related matters
  • Represent the organisation in legal proceedings and public inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Support colleagues in the legal department with complex cases
  • Respond to legal queries from internal stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with changes in planning law

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Planning Lawyer should have:

  • Professional legal qualifications to practice in England and Wales
  • Specialised knowledge in planning law and related regulations
  • Experience drafting legal documents such as Section 106 agreements
  • Confidence in representing an organisation in legal proceedings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload effectively

What's on Offer

  • This in an Interim role for at least 3 months.
  • Hybrid working 1-2 days per week in the office.
