This role will lead a small team of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Software Engineers, and will be responsible for all new product development, product improvement and prototyping to help launch this new range to market.Job DescriptionThe Principal Design Engineer / Manager will be responsible for managing a small, but growing, team of highly skilled Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics and Software Engineers, to enable this business to bring a fantastic new product to market. Day to day responsibilities will include:Managing the product development life-cycle from conception through prototyping, build, test and validation, ready for manufacturingActing as the technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholdersWorking with customers to understand their needs and leading on the design of engineered solutions to theseBeing at the forefront of technology and looking for innovative ways to design and improve new and existing productsEnsuring compliance with industry standards and regulationsProviding technical guidance and mentorship to your teamPreparing and presenting technical reports to the board and senior leadership teamThe Successful ApplicantSuccessful candidates will have a strong design background and a proven ability in leading engineering teams.
