As the Production Manager you will lead all production activities across a large-scale manufacturing site in Swansea. You'll translate site strategy into operational excellence, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets are consistently achieved while building a high-performing, future-ready operations team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead and manage all production activities across production operations on site


  • Own site production performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and waste


  • Translate business and site strategy into clear operational plans and priorities


  • Lead, coach, and develop a large operations team (3 direct reports, ~165 indirect)


  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, 6S, SMED, waste reduction, and OpEx


  • Deliver productivity, quality, and safety targets in line with site KPIs


  • Support major engineering and capital investment projects


  • Optimise working capital through improved inventory management


  • Build succession plans, capability development, and training programs across Operations


  • Act as a visible leader, role-modelling safety-first behaviours at all times

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate ProfileYou'll be a confident, hands-on production leader with credibility to lead on the shop floor.

You'll bring:



  • 5-7+ years' management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


  • Strong background in production leadership within complex operations


  • Proven experience delivering Operational Excellence / CI initiatives


  • Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills


  • Strong commercial and financial awareness (budgets, cost control, KPIs)


  • Ability to make clear, timely decisions in a high-pressure environment


  • Engineering or Business degree preferred (Black Belt / advanced qualifications advantageous)
