Job Description

  • Provide legal advice on rural property transactions, including sales, purchases, and leases.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to rural and agricultural matters.
  • Advise clients on land use, planning, and environmental regulations affecting rural properties.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of legal services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to provide comprehensive legal support.
  • Stay updated on changes in rural and agricultural law to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their trusted legal advisor.
  • Support business development activities by contributing to marketing initiatives and client events.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Rural Solicitor should have:

  • A qualified solicitor in Scotland, with 3 to 6 years rural or commercial property experience.
  • Experienced in property law matters, ideally within rural property, real estate or land transactions.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A client-focused approach with the ability to build lasting professional relationships.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
