About Our Client

My client is a global FMCG leader. They are searching for a SAP Project Planner to develop, maintain, and optimise the integrated project plan for a SAP S/4HANA implementation programme.

This is an FTC until July 2027, with opportunity for this to be extended beyond this period.

My client offers hybrid working, based out of their Manchester office.

Job Description

  • Develop and maintain a detailed, integrated project schedule for all phases of the S/4HANA programme (Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realise, Deploy, and Run).
  • Build workstream‑level plans aligned to SAP Activate methodology.
  • Create and monitor key milestones, stage gates, and critical‑path elements.
  • Establish dependencies between business, technical, data, testing, change, and cutover activities.
  • Produce weekly and monthly planning reports, dashboards, and schedule performance updates.
  • Track progress against baselines; identify schedule variances, risks, and impacts.
  • Support effort forecasting and resource capacity planning.
  • Maintain the programme's planning standards, templates, and governance structures.
  • Identify schedule risks and collaborate with PMO and workstream leads to define mitigation strategies.
  • Track and update cross‑workstream dependencies, ensuring visibility for leadership.
  • Support scenario planning and impact assessments for change requests, delays, or scope changes.
  • Work closely with the PLT, Workstream Leads, Technical Architects, and SI partner to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
  • Facilitate planning workshops, sequencing discussions, and cross‑functional reviews.
  • Communicate timeline impacts clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive creation of the cutover plan, including sequencing, readiness milestones, and hypercare timelines.
  • Ensure technical, functional, data migration, testing, and business readiness tasks are fully integrated into a consolidated plan.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner, PMO Planner, or Scheduler on large‑scale ERP or SAP implementations (preferably S/4HANA).
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and programme lifecycle phases.
  • Advanced proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, KeyedIn, or equivalent).
  • Experience building and managing complex integrated schedules with multiple workstreams.
  • Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models.
  • Understanding of SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM) and cross‑functional dependencies.
  • Background in large‑scale transformation, data migration, or cloud ERP programmes.
  • Experience working with system integrators and global delivery teams.
