The Senior Bookkeeper will manage end-to-end bookkeeping for several UK subsidiaries while supporting the monthly reporting cycle across a growing multi‑entity group. This role provides hands-on accounting responsibility, problem-solving across different businesses, and the chance to strengthen financial processes within a small, flexible central team.

Job Description

  • Coordinate monthly reporting for 13+ UK subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate submission of TBs, P&L, and balance sheet data
  • Full bookkeeping responsibility for selected subsidiaries, including: Bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals; Accounts payable and receivable; VAT returns and supporting schedules Payroll postings and intercompany journals
  • Review subsidiary submissions and proactively resolve discrepancies
  • Support standardisation of reporting templates, controls, and accounting processes
  • Work closely with subsidiary finance contacts, founders, and managers
  • Assist with ad‑hoc financial analysis and group‑wide process improvements
  • Provide additional cover during transition periods (e.g. departing bookkeepers, part‑time resource gaps)



The Successful Applicant

You're an experienced, dependable accounting professional who enjoys working across multiple businesses and managing a variety of responsibilities. You can switch comfortably between transactional detail and month‑end processes, and you take pride in accuracy, ownership and consistency.You'll bring:

  • 7+ years' experience in bookkeeping, accounting or assistant accountant roles
  • Strong understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping and month‑end processes
  • Hands‑on experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and strong Excel skills
  • AAT qualified or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • A collaborative, approachable style - equally comfortable speaking to factory staff and senior leaders
  • A practical, down‑to‑earth attitude that fits a friendly, flat‑structured team
