They manufacture and deliver a diverse range of vehicle cleaning products and are the trade leader in the UK and Ireland.  They are enjoying the most significant period of business growth in their history, with sales expected to increase by 50% in the next 5 years, the implementation of their new ERP system and the upgrading of their manufacturing operations. 

As their new Senior HSE Manager, you will lead your team with a passion for continuous improvement, shaping and leading best practice in the transformation of health and safety, environmental, quality, regulatory and legislative policies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of their brand-new state of the art automated manufacturing facility. 

As an industrial business in the UK that adopts the internationally recognised EN14001 standard, they have been at the forefront of the move toward increased awareness of environmental sustainability within the sector.  As part of this, you will take the lead on a variety of exciting projects.

Job Description

The Senior HSE Manager will: 

  • Define, shape, and implement our HSE strategy and vision
  • Advise and guide the Board on all aspects of safety and environment legislation  
  • Develop/Expand your knowledge of regulations, becoming a subject matter expert
  • Be a role model for HSE best practice
  • Motivate, lead, and inspire a team of subject matter experts
  • Coach, guide and develop your team through SMART objectives and PDPs
  • Implement new processes and drive change to improve efficiency
  • Work cross functionally with colleagues to achieve business objectives 



 

The Successful Applicant

The Senior HSE Manager will bring: 

  • An inspirational and motivational leadership style
  • A passion for health and safety, environmental and quality  
  • An autonomous, agile work ethic
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (science, health and safety, environmental)
  • NEBOSH Certificate (Diploma an advantage).  
  • Professional competence ideally backed up with relevant qualifications/memberships e.g. DGSA, FPA Fire Safety Management, ISEP, IQA Membership, IRCA Lead Auditor  
  • Live within 50 minutes commute of Burntwood, Staffordshire (essential)
