Operating within a fast-evolving and essential sector, they pride themselves on fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and evidence-led culture that protects the public interest across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.Job DescriptionReporting to the Senior Policy Manager, the Senior Policy Officer will lead cross-organisational initiatives to ensure operational standards remain robust and fit for purpose.Key responsibilities include:Managing multiple policy initiatives from start to finish, including the review of existing organisational standards and supporting guidance.Conducting thorough desk-based research and data analysis to drive evidence-based decisions.Drafting high-quality briefings, consultation responses, position papers, and analysis reports for senior committees and external bodies.Facilitating workshops, focus groups, and forums-both in-person and virtually-to ensure diverse stakeholder perspectives are captured.Collaborating across organisational boundaries, including maintaining close joint-working initiatives with regulatory counterparts in Northern Ireland.Ensuring all policy development aligns with risk management, data protection, and equality and diversity frameworks.The Successful ApplicantTo be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in policy development and an analytical mindset.Our client is looking for:Proven experience working within a dedicated policy or regulatory team, ideally with exposure to a public sector, governmental, or representative body environment.Exceptional ability to draft concise, high-quality, and complex documents for senior-level review, alongside excellent verbal skills to influence strategic decisions.Comfort running workshops and focus groups, with a track record of building consensus among diverse or conflicting stakeholder groups.The ability to work independently, manage a varied workload, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining strict attention to detail.An academic or professional qualification that includes a strong research or data analysis component.What's on OfferCompetitive salary between £31,000 and £36,000 per annum.Hybrid working environment offering flexibility.Permanent role in a well-established public sector organisation.Opportunities to work on meaningful policy initiatives.Join a team in London where your expertise as a Senior Policy Officer will directly contribute to shaping impactful policies.
