Job Description

Joining the team as a Tax Senior, you will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of tax clients while working closely with experienced colleagues across the wider practice.This is a broad, client-facing position combining tax compliance with the opportunity to become increasingly involved in advisory and planning work. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of tax clients and developing strong ongoing relationships
  • Preparing and submitting accurate and timely tax returns for individuals and partnerships
  • Supporting clients with a variety of personal and business tax matters
  • Assisting with tax planning across areas including Income Tax, CGT and IHT
  • Identifying opportunities to improve clients' tax efficiency
  • Assisting clients with HMRC enquiries and investigations
  • Keeping up to date with changing tax legislation and communicating relevant developments
  • Acting as a key point of contact and explaining taxation matters clearly to clients
  • Working alongside accounting and other specialist colleagues to provide integrated solutions
  • Contributing to more complex tax assignments as your experience develops
  • Supporting business development initiatives and the continued growth of the practice

The Successful Applicant

You may be ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA qualified or part-qualified, although applications are equally welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate strong practical tax experience gained within an accountancy practice.

You will ideally bring:

  • Previous tax experience gained within an accountancy practice
  • Proven experience preparing personal tax returns
  • Sound technical knowledge across a broad range of taxation matters
  • Some exposure to tax planning or advisory assignments
  • The confidence to manage client relationships and take ownership of your workload
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to explain technical taxation matters clearly and practically
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • A proactive, collaborative and client-focused approach
  • Experience using tax software such as IRIS and Microsoft Excel
