The business has a growing portfolio of products and is investing in strengthening its documentation, compliance, and development processes.Job DescriptionKey responsibilities:Produce and maintain technical documentation in line with MDR requirementsBuild, manage, and update Technical Files for both new and legacy productsTake ownership of legacy documentation, including reverse engineering and generating CAD models/drawingsCreate production-ready, revision-controlled CAD drawings from existing products and development inputsDocument all design changes, improvements, and development activitiesEnsure compliance with medical device regulations, standards, and internal gated processesSupport risk management activities and maintain structured design documentation (e.g. DHF)Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Sales)Support value engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency without compromising qualityCarry out engineering change requests (ECR), including drawing/specification updatesProvide technical support to production teams and resolve engineering queriesThe Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate:Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical engineering role within medical devices or a regulated environmentStrong understanding of Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and compliance requirementsProven experience managing Technical Files, DHF, and design documentation throughout the product lifecycleStrong CAD capability (SolidWorks or similar), with experience producing manufacturing-ready drawingsExperience working within structured product development / gated processesHigh attention to detail with a methodical and organised approachStrong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyAnalytical, proactive, and capable of managing multiple documentation streams simultaneouslyHND (minimum) in Engineering, Product Design, or a related disciplineWhat's on OfferWhat's on offer:Salary of £42,000Opportunity to play a key role in strengthening documentation and compliance within a growing medical device businessExposure to both new product development and legacy product improvement projectsCollaborative, cross-functional working environmentLong-term career progression within a regulated healthcare manufacturing sectorContactBen TurnerQuote job refJN-062026-7032049Phone number+44 113 388 9075Job summaryJob functionEngineering & ManufacturingSubsectorEngineering Design and R&DSectorIndustrial / ManufacturingLocationSheffieldContract typePermanentConsultant nameBen TurnerConsultant phone+44 113 388 9075Job referenceJN-062026-7032049
