This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team on a contract basis through to year end. The role offers immediate responsibility for year-end activities, statutory reporting, and audit support within a collaborative and professional environment.

About Our Client

Our client is a sizeable and respected organisation with a strong reputation within its sector. They are currently entering a busy financial reporting period and require an experienced interim professional to provide additional expertise and ensure a successful year-end process.

Job Description

    • Lead and support the year-end close process.
    • Prepare statutory accounts and supporting schedules.
    • Coordinate and manage external audit requests.
    • Complete complex balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Support preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
    • Review fixed asset accounting, accruals, prepayments and intercompany balances.
    • Investigate and resolve technical accounting issues.
    • Work closely with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
    • Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and reporting processes.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Year End Accountant should have:

    • Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
    • Have strong year-end and statutory accounting experience.
    • Possess a solid technical accounting background.
    • Have previous experience supporting or leading external audits.
    • Be comfortable operating in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
    • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Be capable of building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Have prior interim or contract experience, ideally within complex organisations.

    Day Rate GuideDepending on location, sector and complexity of the assignment, we anticipate a day rate in the region of £330-£450 per day, with flexibility for candidates possessing extensive year-end and statutory reporting expertise.
