Many senior members of the practice have developed their careers within the firm, creating genuine opportunities for ambitious accountants who want to continue developing technically while building a long-term career in practice.Job DescriptionYour responsibilities will include:Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companiesPreparing corporation tax and self-assessment tax returnsCompleting VAT returns and supporting monthly and quarterly accounting requirementsWorking closely with owner-managed businesses across a varied client portfolioUsing digital accounting platforms including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and KashFlowUsing IRIS or similar practice software for accounts and tax assignmentsHelping clients utilise digital accounting technology and real-time financial informationManaging your own workload effectively and ensuring client deadlines are achievedResponding to client queries and providing a high standard of ongoing serviceSupporting and coaching less experienced colleaguesTaking on additional responsibility as your experience within the practice developsThe Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience gained within an accountancy practice and could be qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.You may be:ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualifiedAAT qualified and looking to continue developing your careerQualified by experience with strong general practice expertiseExperienced in preparing accounts for owner-managed businessesComfortable preparing corporation tax and self-assessment returnsKnowledgeable across VAT and periodic accounting requirementsFamiliar with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, KashFlow or similar platformsComfortable using IRIS or comparable practice softwareConfident organising your workload and working to deadlinesAble to communicate confidently and professionally with clientsComfortable supporting and coaching junior colleaguesMotivated by long-term development and progression within practicePart-qualified professionals will receive support to complete their professional qualifications.What's on Offer£32,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience and qualificationPermanent, full-time positionSupport towards completing professional qualificationsExcellent opportunities for long-term career progressionVaried owner-managed business client portfolioBroad exposure across accounts and taxationOpportunity to coach and support junior colleaguesAdditional holiday entitlement for long serviceEstablished and supportive practice environmentOpportunity to build a long-term career with a growing firmPeople are at the heart of Michael Page.
