The role requires strong accounting skills and the ability to produce accurate monthly management information while working closely with both operational teams and group finance.

Job Description

The successful Assistant Accountant will likely have the following responsibilities:· Preparation of monthly management accounts

· Ownership of sales ledger and credit control processes

· Raising and processing customer invoices and monitoring debtor balances

· Purchase ledger oversight including accruals and prepayments

· Completion of regular bank reconciliations

· Processing payroll and liaising with external providers where required

· Supporting cash flow monitoring and reporting

· Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements

· Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and systems

The Successful Applicant

The successful Assistant Accountant should have:· Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Bookkeeper role

· Comfortable producing or supporting monthly management accounts

· Strong working knowledge of bank reconciliations, accruals and prepayments

· Payroll experience is highly desirable

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines

· Confident communicator, able to work with operational and finance stakeholders

· Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting systems
