About Our Client

A growing consultancy firm is seeking a capable and proactive Company Accountant to take ownership of day‑to‑day finance management and support operational effectiveness as the organisation scales.

Job Description



Financial Management

  • Lead monthly budgeting, forecasting, utilisation, WIP review, and invoicing cycles.
  • Own and maintaintheWIP process, ensuring:
    • Accurate project data imports
    • Verification of work‑done percentages with PMs
    • Consistent WIP tracking across the organisation
  • Produce monthly management accounts by team for senior leadership.
  • Develop the annual budget with Directors.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.



Operational Support & Process Improvement

  • Act as the link between finance and operations to keep workflows smooth and efficient.
  • Work with admin and PM teams to streamline and improve procedures.
  • Identify and implement enhancements across finance, operations, and resource management.
  • Support the rollout of new tools, systems, and processes as the organisation grows.



Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a day‑to‑day point of contact for internal stakeholders needing financial or operational support.
  • Collaborate closely during transition periods to ensure a complete and effective handover.



The Successful Applicant

Skills & Experience

  • Strong finance background, ideally within consultancy, professional services, or project‑based environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in month‑end processes, budgeting, forecasting, and WIP reporting.
  • Operationally minded with a knack for spotting and fixing inefficiencies.
  • Highly organised, strong communicator, and comfortable working cross‑functionally.
  • Experienced in managing deadlines at pace.
  • Familiarity with financial or project systems



Desirable

  • Experience in professional services or consultancy.
  • Familiarity with group‑level reporting frameworks (not essential).
