Job Description

  • Managing and developing a caseload of contested Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection welfare matters.
  • Preparing and overseeing Legal Aid Agency funding applications alongside privately funded cases.
  • Representing clients and working with expert counsel and other professionals.
  • Growth and development of the Court of Protection department through business development activities.
  • Delivering exceptional client care and advice to vulnerable clients and their families.

The Successful Applicant

  • A solicitor or equivalent with at least 3 years' PQE in Court of Protection welfare matters.
  • Experienced in handling a contentious Court of Protection caseloads.
  • Knowledgeable in the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Court of Protection procedures, and relevant human rights legislation.
  • Familiar with Legal Aid Agency processes, funding applications, and compliance requirements.
  • An advocate with excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Commercially aware and interested in contributing to the growth of a successful specialist team.
