This is a highly visible role with responsibility for driving environmental compliance, safety excellence, and regulatory adherence across a complex industrial operation.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a proactive EHS culture while ensuring compliance with environmental permits, major hazard regulations, and health & safety legislation.This position offers the opportunity to influence site strategy, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with senior leadership within a well-established organisation committed to operational excellence and sustainability.Job DescriptionEnvironmental ManagementLead environmental compliance activities, ensuring adherence to site permits and regulatory requirements.Manage environmental monitoring programmes including emissions, effluent, waste, groundwater and noise.Prepare and submit statutory environmental reports.Oversee waste management processes, including hazardous waste compliance.Drive sustainability projects focused on energy efficiency, water conservation, carbon reduction and circular economy initiatives.Manage environmental risk controls, spill prevention measures and incident response processes.Maintain positive relationships with regulatory bodies, consultants and key external stakeholders.Health & SafetyEnsure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.Develop, implement and maintain site safety management systems.Lead risk assessments and safe systems of work across operational activities.Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented.Manage contractor safety programmes, permit-to-work systems and site inductions.Deliver training, awareness campaigns and behavioural safety initiatives.Maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.Major Hazard & Regulatory ComplianceMaintain site major hazard documentation and associated compliance requirements.Support inspections, audits and interactions with regulatory authorities.Lead hazard identification, risk analysis and mitigation planning activities.Ensure emergency planning arrangements remain effective and compliant.Leadership & Continuous ImprovementChampion a strong safety and environmental culture across the site.Chair EHS committees and lead cross-functional improvement projects.Act as the site's subject matter expert on all EHS matters.Monitor and report key EHS performance indicators.Lead internal and external audits.Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and best practice implementation.The Successful ApplicantDegree qualification in Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.3+ years' experience within an EHS leadership or management role.Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and health & safety legislation.Experience working within a manufacturing, process, pharmaceutical, chemical, food & beverage or similar regulated environment.Experience supporting regulatory inspections and audits.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Professional EHS qualifications and risk assessment experience are highly desirable.What's on Offer€attractiveOpportunity for growth and career developmentContactRuth HancockQuote job refJN-102026-7116702Phone number+44 114 263 6023Job summaryJob functionHealth, Safety & EnvironmentSubsectorHealth, Safety & EnvironmentSectorIndustrial / ManufacturingWhereDundalkContract typePermanentConsultant nameRuth HancockConsultant phone+44 114 263 6023Job referenceJN-102026-7116702
