Job Description

  • Process supplier invoices, credit notes and purchase orders accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial records across the purchase ledger, sales ledger, expense claims and supplier accounts.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, reconciliations and management information as required.
  • Perform data entry and system updates to ensure financial information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance team, including filing, record maintenance and document preparation.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, journals and reporting activities.
  • Support payment runs by checking documentation, verifying approvals and preparing payments.
  • Respond professionally to internal and external finance queries via email, telephone and in person.
  • Support audit activities by preparing documentation and providing requested information.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to resolve finance-related issues and support continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Administrator should have:

  • Previous administration experience, ideally within a finance, accounts or office environment.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
  • AAT qualification (or studying towards AAT) would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when processing financial information.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using finance systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • A commitment to following company procedures, financial controls and compliance requirements.

What's on Offer

  • Salary between £25,000 and £28,000, dependent on the level of experience.
