About Our Client

I'm working with a well-established, family-owned business in Wilmslow who are looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to take ownership of their internal finance function. This is a newly defined role created as part of the firm's continued growth and the integration of multiple offices.

It's an ideal opportunity for someone with a practice background who enjoys the technical side of accounting but also enjoys a more commercially focused internal role.

Job Description

Working closely with the leadership team, you will oversee the day-to-day finance operations across three legal entities. This is a hands-on position with real visibility and influence as the business continues to grow and evolve.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
  • Revenue, WIP and recovery analysis
  • Cashflow monitoring and debtor management
  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Forecasting and financial modelling
  • Managing supplier payments
  • Supporting operational improvements and finance process changes



The Successful Applicant

My client are looking for someone who enjoys being organised, proactive and close to the numbers. The role would particularly suit someone with an accountancy practice background who understands how professional services businesses operate.

You will also have:

  • A professional finance qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or be qualified by years of relevant experience
  • Strong bookkeeping and management accounting skills
  • Experience using finance systems (Xero experience desireable) and experience improving systems or implementing process changes would be beneficial
  • A confident and collaborative communication style
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
