They are committed to maintaining high standards of financial governance while continually seeking opportunities to improve processes, enhance reporting and support the wider business through strong financial leadership.Job DescriptionKey duties:Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved.Review and approve journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and other month-end adjustments.Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring outstanding items are identified and resolved promptly.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline month-end and financial reporting processes.Lead the year-end financial accounting cycle and coordinate the preparation of statutory accounts.Manage relationships with internal and external auditors and coordinate all audit requirements.Act as the key contact for financial accounting matters during audit processes.Manage, coach and develop a team of three Financial Accountants.Review the quality and accuracy of work produced across the Financial Accounting team.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.Collaborate with stakeholders across the wider business to provide financial expertise and support.The Successful ApplicantFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).Significant experience within a Financial Accounting or Finance Manager position.Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting requirements.Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.Experience preparing or overseeing statutory accounts.Track record of managing internal and external audits.Previous people management experience, with the ability to develop and motivate finance professionals.Experience within a complex or multi-entity environment would be advantageous.Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP would be beneficial.Experience driving process improvements, finance transformation or automation initiatives is desirable.What's on OfferA salary ranging from £65,000 - £80,000 dependent on the level of experience.Permanent positionBenefits package to be confirmed.If you're interested in this role, apply now.People are at the heart of Michael Page.
