We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a team within central government. This temporary role, based in London, focuses on delivering accurate financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Job Description

  • Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Lead of the production of the Whole of Government Accounts (WGA)
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Management of the AP team



The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • Full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA,CIPFA, CIMA)
  • Experience working within the public sector or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software (Agresso) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
