Job Description

  • Prepare and manage financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial performance, providing timely insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other legal financial obligations.
  • Provide financial advice and recommendations to support organisational objectives.
  • Lead and mentor junior finance staff to enhance team performance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Experience in budget management and forecasting within the Higher Education sector
  • OfS regulation experience- essential
  • Higher Education Experience- essential
  • Ability to commute 4 days a week on site in Central London- essential
