Job Description

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Support strategic planning by providing financial forecasts and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved financial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making.
  • Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors when required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proven experience in financial management, ideally within the transport and distribution sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
