This Fractional FD role in Manchester is all about helping a healthcare organisation stay on top of its financial management and planning. You'll be advising the C-Suite team on strategy while ensuring the day-to-day finances run smoothly.

Our client is a sub £5m turnover healthcare business, having recently received PE investment. With a strong presence in their niche market, they're now looking at expanding into adjacent markets.

Job Description

  • Lead the ongoing development of the finance function and financial reporting framework.
  • Deliver timely, accurate management information to support business decision-making.
  • Enhance financial controls, governance and operational processes.
  • Provide budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management support.
  • Deliver commercial analysis to improve performance, profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with leadership to support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted adviser across a range of financial and business matters.
  • Support board-level reporting and stakeholder engagement.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Fractional FD should meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified accountant with experience operating in a very hands-on finance leadership role in a small (<£10m turnover) business with limited support.
  • Proven ability to improve finance processes, reporting and controls within growing businesses.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financial information into practical business insights.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment whilst maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adaptable, pragmatic and capable of delivering impact in a flexible fractional capacity.
  • Able to build credibility quickly and work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
