Our client is a reputable Private Equity firm with a strong presence in the sector.

Job Description

  • Support the day-to-day accounting and administration of investment funds, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and maintenance of fund records.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of fund NAV calculations, investor reporting, and financial statements.
  • Perform cash, bank, and investment reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare journal entries and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Liaise with fund administrators, auditors, custodians, and other third-party service providers as required.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and responding to information requests.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, process improvements, and reporting initiatives across the fund accounting function.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accounting Associate must have:

  • 1-2 years of experience gained within an accountancy practice, audit firm, fund administrator, or a similar financial services environment.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Exposure to audit, fund accounting, investment accounting, or financial reporting activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly learn new accounting and reporting systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to develop a long-term career within fund accounting.
  • Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
