Job Description

  • Oversee the organisation's financial strategy, planning, and management processes.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to stakeholders and the leadership team.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and monitoring financial performance.
  • Lead and support the finance team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved financial efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual accounts and liaise with external auditors.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Finance should have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • MUST have experience within a charity that has a sub £10 million turnover
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, reporting, and compliance.
  • Proven experience in financial leadership, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.
  • The ability to interpret complex financial information and present it clearly to stakeholders.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills to guide a finance team effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and implementing financial improvements.
  • Commitment to the values and goals of the not-for-profit industry.
