About Our Client

We are partnering with a rapidly growing and highly entrepreneurial pharmacy group to appoint a Head of Procurement, a newly created leadership role critical to the next phase of expansion.This is a high-impact opportunity to build and lead a best-in-class procurement function, with a particular focus on parallel import (PI) strategy supplier optimisation, and cost competitiveness across a multi-site pharmacy network.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the managing director, you will take full ownership of procurement strategy, with a core remit to enhance margins, strengthen supply resilience, and unlock growth through an effective PI model.Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a group-wide procurement strategy, aligned to growth and margin objectives
  • Leading and optimising parallel imports (PI) sourcing, ensuring commercial advantage and regulatory compliance
  • Building strong relationships with international suppliers and PI partners
  • Driving cost-down initiatives, rebate structures, and supplier consolidation
  • Managing stock availability and mitigating supply chain risk across retail pharmacy operations
  • Establishing robust governance, reporting, and controls across procurement activity
  • Building and leading a high-performing procurement team as the function scales

The Successful Applicant

We are seeking a commercially driven procurement leader with deep expertise in pharmaceutical sourcing.You will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role within pharmacy, wholesale, or pharmaceutical distribution
  • Strong, hands-on experience of parallel imports (PI), including supplier networks, pricing dynamics, and compliance considerations
  • A track record of delivering margin improvement and cost savings in a regulated environment
  • Excellent supplier negotiation and relationship management skills, ideally with exposure to European markets
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to make data-driven commercial decisions
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to build and scale teams in a fast-paced environment
