This organisation operates in the industrial and manufacturing sector in Essex and are looking for an interim Health and Safety Manager.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on safety practices.
  • Investigate and report on incidents and accidents.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with management to promote a safety-first culture.
  • Provide expert advice on safety-related matters across departments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Support the implementation and delivery of the company's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and workplace safety assessments.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and environmental events, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Support risk assessment and safe system of work development.
  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues, contractors, and managers on HSE matters.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Contribute to environmental improvement initiatives and sustainability objectives.
  • Maintenance of management systems, documentation, and compliance records.
  • Participate in safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and employee engagement activities.
  • Work closely with operational teams to promote a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
  • Commute to Essex
