Job Description

  • Monitor and manage rent accounts to ensure timely income collection.
  • Engage with tenants to address rent arrears and agree on payment plans.
  • Provide advice and support to tenants regarding financial matters and benefits.
  • Work closely with internal teams to identify and resolve income-related issues.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on income collection activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
  • Attend court hearings to represent the organisation in income-related cases.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to improve income collection rates.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Housing Income Officer should have:

  • Proven experience of undertaking a variety of administrative and financial tasks in a structured environment to support the delivery of services.
  • Experience working in a customer facing role in a social housing and property management environment .
  • Experience of presenting cases at court proceedings.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Competence in using relevant IT systems and software.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to work.
