Lead end-to-end HR function across the business with the support from external HR providers and the leadership team. This role combines operational HR support with full responsibility for accurate legal compliance, consistency, and effective people management across all locations. The HR Manager will also work with the Finance team to complete the monthly payroll.

Job Description

HR Management

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contract preparation, and exit processes.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring GDPR compliance and secure file storage.
  • Advise managers and staff on HR policies, employment law, and best practice.
  • Coordinate and document disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management procedures.
  • Review, update, and implement HR policies, contracts, and procedures in line with legal and business changes.
  • Oversee annual appraisal process, workforce planning, succession management, and training/coaching initiatives.
  • Provide HR reports and KPIs to senior management to inform decision-making.
  • Act as a cultural champion, promoting fair treatment, employee engagement, and a positive working environment.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support the team and the wider needs of the business.



Payroll

  • Completion of monthly payroll accurately and on time, including statutory deductions, holiday pay, sick pay, and overtime on the payroll system.
  • Process starters, leavers, and contract changes
  • Maintain accurate records for pension enrolment and employee benefit schemes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries.



Executive PA (10%)

  • Assist the MD in the management of appointments
  • Manage collation of deliverables and minutes for board meetings
  • Assist in the arrangement of corporate events for the MD

The Successful Applicant

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a standalone or lead HR role, ideally within an SME or multi-site business.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Confident supporting end-to-end payroll in-house.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, support, and coach line managers.
  • CIPD qualified preferred.
  • Discreet, professional, and able to handle sensitive information with integrity.

What's on Offer

  • Salary between £42,000 and £50,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • The role can be consider either 4 or 5 days a week. Based on site in Stirling.
