Job Description

  • Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance with public sector regulations and standards.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on financial matters and risk management.
  • Manage and develop the finance team to ensure effective performance and professional growth.
  • Ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, funding, and expenditure to support organisational priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to maintain compliance and address audit findings.
  • Required to be on site 3-4 days a week

The Successful Applicant

A successful Interim Finance Director should have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles, ideally within the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent ability to manage budgets, financial planning, and cash flow.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and develop a finance team.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools relevant to the role.
