This role offers scope to make a massive impact for the organisations in terms of modernising and developing efficient but fit-for purpose processes.The postholder will be expected to ensure all bank and ledgers regularly under their remit are reconciled and support the audit of these areas for Internal and External audit purposes alongside the Head of Financial Accounting.Strong leadership skills, an ability to drive a change programme as well as a robust knowledge of policy, good planning and strong influencing skills will be of critical importance in driving forward the departmental objectives. Beyond ensuring the smooth-running operational effectiveness and service delivery, the role requires the post-holder to be intuitive, resilient, financially astute, problem solving and energetic.The Head of Operational Finance will be sufficiently flexible to deal with the range of challenges, responding quickly, effectively with creative innovative solutions which remain coherent with our core values and will work closely with Principals, Directors, Heads of Service and will form part of the Senior Finance Management Team.The post-holder may deputise for the Director of Finance on occasions.The Head of Operational and Capital Finance will work closely with Principals, Directors, Heads of Service and will form part of the Senior Finance Management Team. The Head of Operational and Capital Finance will work in collaboration with allied professionals and will need to maintain regular contact with a variety of bodies. These will include:HMRCESFA and other funding bodiesLocal AuthoritiesOrganisation Shared Service TeamsAuditors and other relevant external bodiesThe Successful ApplicantA successful Interim Head of Operational and Capital Finance should have:Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).Strong experience in operational and capital financial management.Proven ability to produce accurate budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.Excellent knowledge of regulatory and statutory financial requirements.Confidence in providing strategic financial advice to senior stakeholders.Strong leadership skills to manage and guide a finance team effectively.Experience within the Not for Profit sector is advantageous.What's on OfferSalary ranging from £60,000 to £70,000, dependent on the level of experience.Fixed-term contract with the opportunity to contribute to the not-for-profit sector.Based in Surrey, offering a convenient location for local candidates.Hybrid working15% local government pension schemeIf you're interested in this role, apply now.People are at the heart of Michael Page.
