Job Description

  • Lead and deliver end-to-end procurement exercises across goods, services and consultancy requirements.
  • Prepare tender documentation, evaluation criteria and procurement strategies.
  • Provide procurement advice and support to project managers and programme leads.
  • Ensure procurement activity complies with relevant public sector procurement legislation and governance requirements.
  • Support contract award, mobilisation and supplier management activities.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and commercial risks.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, delivery partners and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and audit trails.
  • Contribute to achieving value for money, social value and successful project outcomes.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with:

  • Proven public sector procurement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering end-to-end procurement processes.
  • Experience managing tender exercises and supplier engagement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and deliver at pace.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Local government, regional partnership or economic development experience.
  • Experience supporting major regeneration, infrastructure or growth programmes.
  • Knowledge of social value requirements.
  • Experience working within an Investment Zone programme or Investment Zone-funded environment would be highly advantageous.
