About Our Client

Our client is a well-established supplier to the building and construction industry with a strong reputation for customer service, product expertise and long-standing client relationships. Operating from their Reading branch, they continue to invest in growth and are looking for an ambitious Internal Sales Representative to help drive sales, support customers and identify new business opportunities.

Job Description

  • Build and develop strong relationships with existing customers to maximise repeat business.
  • Proactively identify and convert new sales opportunities within the building and construction sector.
  • Manage inbound enquiries, quotations and customer orders from initial enquiry through to completion.
  • Provide customers with accurate product, pricing and technical information.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve branch and company sales targets.
  • Monitor market activity and competitor movements to identify commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity.
  • Support branch trade days and promotional events to increase customer engagement.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring efficient order processing and follow-up.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for customers, helping to drive long-term customer loyalty.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Internal Sales professional should have:

  • Previous sales experience, ideally within the building products, construction or merchant sector.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-first approach.
  • Comfortable managing multiple enquiries, quotations and orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accurate administration skills.
  • A proactive and self-motivated individual who enjoys working towards targets.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM or sales order processing systems.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to support colleagues where required.
