Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsCompetitive daily rate of £600 to £650 a day outside IR35.Deliver high-impact cloud modernisation in a senior hands-on role.About Our ClientThe organisation operates in the Investment management industry and is based in London.Job DescriptionManage, maintain and improve Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure.Support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and identity services.Administer Windows Server and virtualised environments.Automate infrastructure processes using PowerShell, Terraform or Bicep.Contribute to cloud migration and infrastructure-modernisation projects.Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and capacity.Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and service issues.Manage networking, connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and firewalls.Support Microsoft Intune and other endpoint-management platforms.Maintain backup, disaster-recovery and business-continuity capabilities.Partner with cybersecurity teams on access, vulnerabilities and security controls.Coordinate with MSPs, cloud providers and external technology partners.Support change, release, incident and problem-management processes.Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation.Provide technical guidance and escalation support to service-desk teams.Identify infrastructure risks, capability gaps and improvement opportunities.The Successful ApplicantA successful IT Infrastructure Operations Engineer should have:Infrastructure engineering experience within investment management, banking or another regulated financial-services environment.Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Azure.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Active Directory.Proven Windows Server administration experience.Strong understanding of VMware or similar virtualisation technologies.Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation experience.Knowledge of Terraform, Bicep or another infrastructure-as-code technology.Strong networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and firewalls.Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and production issues.Familiarity with monitoring, backup and disaster-recovery technologies.Experience managing third-party suppliers, consultancies or MSPs.Strong communication skills and confidence engaging senior stakeholders.Microsoft Intune and endpoint-management experience.Exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, Linux or AWS is advantageous.Knowledge of Bloomberg or other financial-market applications is desirable.Experience supporting investment, trading or front-office users is beneficial.Understanding of cybersecurity, identity tooling and ITIL processes.Experience contributing to cloud migration or data-centre exit programmes.Knowledge of operational resilience within financial services.What's on OfferDaily rate: £600 - £650, dependent on the level of experience.Temporary role based in London.If you're interested in this role, apply now.People are at the heart of Michael Page.
