As a Legal Adviser (qualified solicitor), you will provide high-quality, pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of commercial, finance and public law matters. The role offers significant variety and responsibility, supporting transactions from inception through to completion and ongoing management.

Job Description

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on a wide range of finance matters including banking, trade finance, export finance, asset and project finance
  • Supporting the structuring, negotiation and execution of complex commercial transactions
  • Drafting and negotiating legal documentation (often based on industry-standard templates)
  • Advising on broader legal issues such as public law, procurement, information law and regulatory matters
  • Managing external counsel relationships and coordinating multi-jurisdictional legal input
  • Supporting post-completion matters including amendments, claims, recoveries and disputes
  • Contributing to legal risk management, policy development and internal training initiatives



You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external counterparties, playing an integral role in delivering commercially driven legal solutions.

The Successful Applicant

You will be a qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with strong commercial awareness and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Around 5+ PQE, although more junior lawyers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
  • Experience gained in private practice or in-house, ideally within banking, finance or related areas
  • Exposure to one or more of: trade finance, project finance, asset finance, export finance, public law or commercial litigation
  • Strong technical skills, sound judgement and an ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills



Additional requirements:

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance, including having lived in the UK continuously for at least 5 years
  • You must have no more than one month's notice to be considered for this opportunity
