Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsTake real ownership of management accountsJoin a growing businessAbout Our ClientA company in the retail industry based in Birmingham.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.Prepare journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.Analyse financial performance and provide detailed commentary.Investigate variances and identify trends, risks and opportunities.Maintain strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations.Support the development of management reporting and business insight.Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making.Take ownership of the fixed asset register.Oversee expenses and company card processes.Support VAT returns, external audits and statutory reporting.Manage National Statistics submissions and other regulatory reporting requirements.Identify and drive process improvements across finance systems, controls and reporting.The Successful ApplicantAbout YouWe are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:Experience producing or significantly contributing to monthly management accounts.Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial control experience.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong Excel capabilities.High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the detail.The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes and reporting.Experience of working within a changing or growing business environment would be advantageous.Knowledge of Pegasus Opera would be beneficial but is not essential.You will ideally be:Qualified, part-qualified or studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ACA, orAble to demonstrate equivalent management accounting experience.What's on OfferSalary up to £45,000£2,000 annual study supportHalf-day leave for professional examinations22 days annual leave, increasing by 3 days after 2 years' serviceOptional healthcare benefit50% staff discount on full-price itemsGenuine opportunities for professional development and career progressionExposure to a broad and evolving finance functionIf you're interested in this role, apply now.People are at the heart of Michael Page.
