Working as part of a multi-disciplined shift engineering team, you will help maximise equipment availability, improve reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and driving engineering excellence within a modern manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, control, and automation systems.Diagnose faults and perform repairs to minimise production downtime.Support the site's reliability programme through root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective actions.Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend cost-effective improvements.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, efficiency, and reliability.Support engineering projects, change management activities, and site improvement programmes.Complete routine asset care activities, condition-based monitoring (CBM), and maintenance inspections.Accurately record maintenance activities and work orders within the site's maintenance management system.Participate in daily shift handovers and team meetings to ensure effective communication between teams.Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and risk assessments.Support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and asset care programmes.Assist with contractor management, permit-to-work processes, and compliance activities where required.The Successful ApplicantA successful Multiskilled Engineer should have:Engineering experience within a food manufacturing siteNVQ level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering18th Edition if electrically biasExperience in diagnosing and repairing machinery faults effectively.Qualifications in engineering or a related field.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.What's on OfferCompetitive salary ranging from £47,000 to £58,000, dependent on the level of experience and shift patternsPermanent position in Wigan.Opportunities to work within the FMCG industry.Comprehensive benefits package provided by the employer.If this sounds like the role for you, apply now.People are at the heart of Michael Page.
