Job Description

Payroll Assistant

  • Support the preparation and delivery of monthly payroll, ensuring employee data and payroll records are accurate and up to date.
  • Process payroll changes including overtime, pensions, benefits, leave, deductions, and employee updates.
  • Maintain payroll systems and ensure alignment between HR, payroll, and finance records.
  • Assist with payroll accounting activities, including reconciliations and payroll journal postings.
  • Support the administration of pensions, healthcare, childcare, HMRC processes, and other employee benefit schemes.
  • Contribute to payroll-related projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, external providers, and key stakeholders to ensure a smooth payroll service.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Assistant should have:

  • Previous payroll experience and a solid understanding of UK payroll processes.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to analyse and reconcile data accurately.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and pension administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Commutable distance (near Beaconsfield - ideally a driver as opposed to a public transport user)
