It spans 50 markets, 20 manufacturing sites and approximately 20k SAP users.This is not a technical SAP upgrade. It is an enterprise-wide, business-led transformation enabled by SAP S/4HANA, with wider scope across process, data, technology, AI and digital capability.The programme is preparing to enter Design phase in Q4 2026 and is taking a robust stage gate approach to phase entry and exit.Job DescriptionThe PMO Leader will be responsible for establishing, operationalising and leading the PMO for the programme.The role will lead a team covering programme performance metrics, RAIDD management, resource management and risk and issue management. It will also work closely with business and technical workstream leads, programme plan managers, design governance, programme governance, finance, procurement, architecture, transformation and third-party delivery partners.Key responsibilities will include:Establishing and baselining the integrated programme plan, including critical path, resource loading and internal and external dependenciesImplementing the agreed PMO structure and strengthening PMO processes, controls, reporting and governanceProviding first line assurance over delivery activity, programme progress and adherence to agreed PMO processesLeading resource management, dependency management, RAIDD management and programme performance reportingRunning key programme forums, including Change Board, Delivery Review and Dependency ReviewSupporting effective governance across SteerCo, Design Authority and other senior programme forumsChallenging the quality, achievability and completeness of plans produced by delivery teams and third-party partnersOverseeing, challenging and measuring the effectiveness of the systems integration partnerWorking constructively with the independent programme assurance partner and Internal Audit where requiredManaging architecture-related dependencies across the programme, particularly around data, integration and releaseSupporting stage gate readiness across Design, Build, Test, Deploy and deployment wave activityProviding clear, evidence-based recommendations, including the confidence to recommend a delay or "no go" decision where appropriateBuilding trusted relationships across senior programme leadership, business stakeholders, technology teams and external partnersIn the first 90 days, the successful candidate will be expected to hire the core PMO team, baseline the integrated plan, establish effective resource levelling and embed a practical governance model that gives the programme clearer control and assurance.The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will be an experienced transformation PMO leader with a strong background in large-scale SAP-enabled business transformation.They will bring:Proven experience establishing and leading PMO functions for complex, multinational transformation programmesStrong experience on SAP programmes, ideally SAP S/4HANA-enabled transformationPractical knowledge of SAP Activate and how it translates into typical programme phase activity, including Design, Build, Test and DeployExperience working on business-led, technology-enabled transformation rather than purely technical IT upgradesStrong integrated planning, critical path, resource loading and dependency management capabilityExperience leading PMO teams and building PMO capability in a complex programme environmentExperience working with systems integration partners and challenging supplier plans, delivery quality and effectivenessStrong RAIDD, governance, assurance and programme control experienceCredibility across SAP programme risks, especially data, integration and release managementReal examples of intervening where programme delivery was at riskExperience presenting to senior programme leaders and influencing executive-level stakeholdersConfidence to hold the line under pressure and support evidence-based go/no-go decisionsPMP certificationExisting right to work in the UK without visa sponsorshipExperience working on both the client side and consulting or systems integration side would be highly advantageous.SAP S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred, but the client will consider candidates with broader SAP transformation experience where they can clearly demonstrate PMO leadership, SAP delivery understanding and experience operating in a complex implementation environment.This role does not require SAP architecture expertise. Candidates must, however, be credible in managing architecture-related dependencies and risks across areas such as data, integration, release, controls and legacy systems.The successful candidate will be calm, structured and commercially credible.
