Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for complex, high precision manufacturing operations, taking full ownership of performance across machining, specialist processes and sub-assembly. The role will be tasked with developing production methodologies to challenge efficiencies and push commercial viability.

  • Deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective production methods, ensuring strong manufacturing standards are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean tools, value engineering, and root‑cause analysis to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor performance data, analyse downtime trends, and implement corrective actions to maintain best‑in‑class reliability.
  • Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations, governing body requirements, and quality standards.
  • Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards across the department.
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members to achieve operational excellence and maintain high performance.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to support manufacturing strategy and delivery.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Production Manager should have:

  • A strong background in manufacturing within automotive, aerospace or advanced manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in managing production processes and teams.
  • Experience with small batch, bespoke and prototype manufacturing.
  • Strong technical understanding of CNC machining and CAD methodology.
  • Exposure to operational excellence frameworks such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience with process improvement and commercial viability.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
