Job Description

  • Process and code purchase invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accounts are up-to-date.
  • Handle payment runs and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Support month-end processes by providing necessary reports and data.
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice queries promptly.
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to audit queries as required.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting function.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Purchase Ledger Clerk should have:

  • Experience in a similar role within accounting and finance.
  • Strong knowledge of purchase ledger processes and principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
  • A relevant qualification in accounting or finance is desirable.
  • Able to commute to Burton on Trent three days per week
