Job Description

  • Maintain and update rent and service charge accounts for tenants.
  • Prepare accurate rent and service charge calculations in line with regulations and policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for rent and service charges.
  • Respond to tenant queries regarding rent and service charges promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve account discrepancies.
  • Produce reports on rent and service charge data for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the accounting and finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Rents and Service Charge Officer should have:

  • Experience in accounting or finance roles within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of rent and service charge calculations and processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with tenants and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.

  • Hybrid working model: initially three days on-site near Preston.
  • Flexible working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:45 AM - 5 PM, Friday 9 AM - 4 PM.
