Job Description

  • Lead the operations and delivery of a high-performing responsive repairs service, ensuring compliance with housing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and develop supervisors, operatives and support teams to deliver an efficient repairs service.
  • Control budgets, resources and procurement activities to maximise value for money.
  • Drive performance improvements through KPI management, service monitoring and customer feedback.
  • Ensure health & safety, compliance and quality standards are maintained across all works.
  • Lead service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee inspections, audits and quality assurance activities to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Represent the service at senior-level meetings and resident engagement forums.
  • Coordinate responses to major incidents affecting housing assets and services.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Repairs Manager should have:

  • Proven experience managing responsive repairs and maintenance services, including responsibility for a DLO workforce.
  • Hands-on trade experience with a clear progression into operational leadership roles.
  • Demonstrable experience managing repairs teams, including trade operatives, supervisors and support staff.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to property management.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills to address repair and maintenance challenges.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports for management.
