Job Description

As a School Business Manager, duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the organisation's financial processes, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for cost-saving and implement effective strategies.
  • Ensure the organisation's financial health and sustainability through effective planning and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless operational support.
  • Lead and mentor a team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure that all financial policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Estates and facilities management including ensuring safe, compliant, and well-maintained learning environments across multiple sites
  • Maintaining robust systems and ensuring statutory obligations are met in line with health and safety standards
  • Ensuring effective tendering and contract oversight

The Successful Applicant

A successful School Business Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in financial management including budget management and strategic financial planning
  • Have a good understanding of HR processes and compliance
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
