Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsYou will assist the Finance Director, ensuring strong financial controlThe role will involve detailed analysis of the Company's financial informationAbout Our ClientLarge/global business based in Crawley.Job DescriptionLead detailed financial analysis of key general ledger balance sheet accounts, assessing the recoverability and integrity of carrying values, identifying emerging risks, and providing clear explanations of significant movements and trends.Deliver robust analysis of key income statement accounts, investigating material variances, challenging underlying assumptions, and providing meaningful insight into financial performance.Drive the identification and resolution of accounting errors and misclassifications, working with finance teams to ensure the general ledger accurately reflects the underlying commercial activity.Review and challenge key financial reconciliations, including payroll, inter-company and other material balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciling items are appropriately investigated, resolved and controlled.Ensure financial alignment across UK and international business units on key project balances, identifying inconsistencies and supporting accurate accounting for complex multi-unit projects.Develop and maintain Accounting Policy Documents in line with Group requirements and IFRS, translating complex technical accounting requirements into clear and practical guidance for the business.Communicate and embed financial policies, accounting requirements and best-practice procedures across unit Financial Controllers, providing guidance and challenge where required.Provide technical accounting expertise on ad hoc reporting and finance projects, delivering analysis, interpretation and practical guidance to unit finance teams and senior stakeholders.Support the end-to-end management of the UK external audit, coordinating deliverables, maintaining the audit timetable, managing information requests and ensuring a high-quality, efficient audit process.Drive the implementation of financial control improvements arising from external audit activity, monitoring progress and assessing the effectiveness and sustainability of actions implemented.Support the design and enhancement of the internal control environment, ensuring compliance with Group requirements through effective control development, testing, monitoring and reporting.Identify and lead opportunities to leverage AI and automation within financial analysis and reporting, working collaboratively with UK in-house teams to develop and implement solutions that improve efficiency, insight and the quality of financial decision-making.The Successful ApplicantQualified - ideally Big 4Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.Ability to manage own workload as well as contribute to team deadlines.Ability to work flexibly across multiple teams, prioritising tasks effectively based on business, commercial and legal requirements.Strong understanding of the principles and application of IFRS 15 and IFRS16.Good commercial and operational awareness.Strong MS Excel skills & use of IT tools.A curious approach to improving financial systems and tools, including an understanding of how AI can be used to improve financial information quality, speed of preparation, and insightful analysis.What's on Offer£75,000 - £80,000 + Bonus and fantastic benefits !ContactTom CampQuote job refJN-082026-7081271Phone number07467000142Job summaryJob functionAccountingSubsectorCommercial & AnalysisSectorBusiness ServicesWhereCrawleyContract typePermanentConsultant nameTom CampConsultant phone07467000142Job referenceJN-082026-7081271
