Job Description

A Shift Engineer - Mechanical Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and repair faults effectively.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Support the smooth operation of building services, including HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Collaborate with the wider facilities management team to resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential mechanical problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Provide technical advice and support to ensure effective operations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Shift Engineer - Mechanical should have:

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working within facilities management or building services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, or similar mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently when required.
